Proposal

I have always looked at the clothing side of Retail Graphics in the past so I have decided to base my Final Major Project around a Coffee shop or small Independent cafe. This will allow me to use some of the research I have been doing for my dissertation on colour theory and how they affect the moods of the consumer. I am going to look at the Graphics and advertising of existing High street coffee shops such as Starbucks, Costa Coffee and Pret a Manger etc as well as smaller independant shops. I want to be able to draw influences from other areas of the Retail sector so I am going to continue to look at the fashion end of the market.

I am going to focus on Brand Identity and Advertising because I want to see how the consumer interacts with this and if there are any rules that must be stuck to, Print based design and Typography and Layout as I feel this will cover all the areas of design I want to be able to show I am able to work with.
