Tutorial with Justin Burns 25.03.09

Today I had my tutorial with Justin to discuss my progress so far. We went through the action plan we made last time to see what I have done. I have completed the Mituyu brief and RMUK Price List with just a few loose ends to tie up. I need to get the Mituyu posted to the client tomorrow morning and to reprint the RMUK Price List with the phone number and web address on it to make it more like a business card when you tear it off. I need to carry on with the research into the store layout for JD Sports and have this brief completed by 03.04.09. I also need to start researching into my other brief which is the window display for HMV. We discussed changing this brief slightly to make it more substantial. Now I am going to design a window display for a genre of music I dont normally listen to and one for a genre of music I do listen to. I will have to listen to the music and get a feel for the colours, style of type and imagery that I could use to communicate that genre of music. We decided between us that this would be enough briefs for me to do to cover all the areas I initially wanted to cover as some briefs have covered more than one area.

We discussed what I could produce after easter as the main part of my final major project also. I am going to produce the full range of graphics for a small independent coffee shop as I originally planned as I havnt covered the food end of retail in my portfolio and I would like to show I can design for all areas of Retail.
